SB Comm's Permanent Foundation Guarantee Warranty Program

Get to Know the Permanent Foundation Guarantee Warranty Program

SB Comm’s Permanent Foundation Guarantee is a lifetime workmanship warranty that covers the physical infrastructure of your smart home system. If an issue is caused by how we installed wiring, mounting, or structural components, your labor and trip charges are $0.00.

At its core, this smart home warranty program is built on a simple philosophy: while technology will evolve and eventually require updates or replacement, the foundation of your system should remain dependable. At SB Comm, we stand behind the quality of our installations, ensuring that the wiring, mounting, and structural elements we install continue to perform as intended over time.

Unlike traditional service models that tie workmanship coverage to ongoing contracts, this guarantee reflects our commitment to long-term reliability. If the issue is tied to installation integrity, we fix it. No subscription required and no expiration on our workmanship.

What’s Covered: Workmanship & Infrastructure

Our warranty applies to the physical integrity of the system we install. If the root cause of an issue with your smart home or AV system is workmanship or infrastructure, it is covered under the lifetime guarantee.

Covered examples include:

Mounting integrity

Loose TV mounts, unsecured equipment, projector brackets, or sagging rack shelves

Cabling and terminations

Failed terminations, such as RJ45, coaxial, speaker wire, HDMI, or structural wiring faults

Physical infrastructure

Structural integrity of equipment racks and wall enclosures installed by SB Comm

If the issue traces back to installation quality, your service visit is covered under the program.

What’s Billable (Not Covered)

Not all service needs are related to workmanship or infrastructure. Technology naturally evolves, requires updates, and can fail over time. These types of services are billable and not covered under our lifetime workmanship warranty.

Billable services fall into four categories:

  • Equipment failure or replacement: Internal component failures, such as power supplies, displays, or cameras
  • Software and firmware updates: App updates, system changes, or network-related adjustments
  • Upgrades or requested changes: Adding new devices, modifying system functionality, or expanding your system
  • Environmental or accidental damage: Issues caused by lightning, power surges, water, or physical damage

These items are not related to installation integrity and are serviced at standard rates.

The Covered vs. Billable Rule

We determine coverage by identifying the root cause of the issue. For Atlanta and Gwinnett County homeowners, the process looks like this:

Step 1: Diagnose the issue

We begin with remote triage whenever possible to understand what is happening.

Step 2: Inspect on-site if needed

A technician performs a diagnostic checklist to identify whether the issue stems from installation or equipment.

Step 3: Apply the correct coverage path

If the issue is tied to workmanship or infrastructure, labor and trip charges are adjusted to $0.00. If the issue is unrelated to installation, we confirm billable service before proceeding.

This process ensures transparency and protects your investment.

Service Rates When Billable Applies

When service is not covered under the warranty, standard rates apply. SB Comm charges a trip fee of $85 and an hourly labor rate of $185.

Before any billable work begins, our team will explain the issue, outline your options, and confirm next steps. This ensures you always understand the scope of service and associated costs before moving forward.

Keeping Coverage Active

Annual System Health Audit

To maintain your Lifetime Workmanship Warranty, SB Comm requires an Annual System Health Audit. This proactive visit ensures your system’s foundation remains intact and verifies that wiring, mounting, and infrastructure have not been compromised.

For clients enrolled in a Service Membership, the audit is included at no additional cost. For non-members, this visit is billable at standard service rates.

Third-Party Modifications

Your smart home system is a connected ecosystem, and unauthorized changes can impact performance and reliability. Any third-party work or tampering with wiring, racks, or structural components voids the lifetime guarantee.

To protect your coverage:

  • Call us before adding or modifying wiring
  • Contact us before hiring electricians or IT providers to work on your system
  • Reach out before relocating equipment or modifying racks

Maintaining a single source for system integrity ensures long-term performance and warranty protection.

Warranty FAQs

Do I need a service membership to receive SB Comm’s lifetime warranty?

No. SB Comm’s Lifetime Workmanship Warranty applies regardless of membership status. However, a Service Membership adds benefits such as a waived Annual System Health Audit and ongoing remote support.

What does SB Comm’s lifetime warranty actually cover?

The warranty covers workmanship and physical infrastructure installed by SB Comm, including wiring, terminations, mounting, and equipment racks. If an issue is caused by installation quality, all labor and trip charges are fully covered.

What is not covered under the lifetime warranty?

The warranty does not cover equipment failure, software updates, system upgrades, or damage caused by environmental factors such as lightning, water, or power surges. These non‑workmanship issues are serviced at standard rates.

If my equipment fails, is the service call free?

If the issue is due to manufacturer hardware failure, the equipment may be covered under the manufacturer’s warranty. However, labor for diagnosis, replacement, and reprogramming is billable at SB Comm’s standard service rates.

How does SB Comm determine if an issue is covered or billable?

SB Comm identifies the root cause through remote diagnostics and, if needed, on‑site evaluation. Installation‑related issues are covered under the warranty. Equipment or environmental issues are billable and confirmed before work begins.

What happens during the Annual System Health Audit?

The Annual System Health Audit is a proactive visit where technicians inspect mounts, wiring, racks, and terminations. They verify system integrity and ensure no third‑party modifications have compromised the installation.

Does the lifetime warranty transfer if I sell my home?

Yes. The warranty is tied to the home’s infrastructure and transfers to the new homeowner. To maintain coverage, the new owner must schedule an onboarding visit to re‑certify the system and continue the Annual System Health Audit.

Can third-party work affect my warranty coverage?

Yes. Any unauthorized work, tampering, or modifications by third parties can void the workmanship warranty. To maintain coverage, SB Comm must remain the sole provider responsible for wiring, mounting, and infrastructure.
